Ordering and Delivery

To make a purchase simply use the "Add product to my bag" button to select your chosen pieces, and once you have finished selecting, proceed to checkout. The secure SAGEPAY shopping cart accepts payments via credit card or debit card.

Postage costs are calculated during the checkout process and for most UK orders sent Royal Mail are between £3.50 and £5.50. The best way to check postage is to add the items to your cart and go to the checkout.

Once we have received notification of your purchase we will email you to confirm said purchase and advise delivery details. Please note that a contract does not exist between us until we have confirmed acceptance of the order. This term is simply to protect us in case of product unavailability or pricing error. Should such an error have occurred we would of course refund you immediately.

Payments by cheque or bank transfer are also accepted. Please email us at sales@thelilactree.co.uk to check product availability, including the item number, a short description and the price of the pieces you wish to order. Ensure that you also include your name, address and contact details on the email. We will respond with an invoice for the items and details of how to make your payment.


Postage and Packaging

All tiaras are lovingly packed in tissue and strong cardboard boxes to prevent damage in transit.

All postage costs are advised during the checkout process before you finally submit your order. Standard UK charges are £2.95 for items under 2kg and a maximum of £4.95 for items over 2kg. Postage is free within the UK for orders over £250.

UKorders are sent by Royal Mail First Class Post or Special Delivery, both of which require a signature upon receipt.

Recorded Delivery within the UK is a 1st Class postage service requiring a signature from the recipient. This allows us to order track ensuring you receive your product safely.

Special Delivery within the UK is a next day service that offers the added security of insurance cover up to £2,500 for the package contents. Your order can be tracked and requires a signature from the recipient. Please note that despatch via this method will not necessarily be on the date of order. If you need to know when the purchase is despatched to ensure availability of a signatory, please contact us via sales@thelilactree.co.uk, quoting your order number as a reference.

International postage rates are advised at the checkout. The following table outlines international zones that we currently ship to, together with the standard postage charge for orders. If you want us to ship to a zone not listed below, please contact us and we will advise the postage.

Please note that you will need to take responsibility for any import duties and applicable import laws prevailing in the destination country.

The Lilac Tree reserves the right to cancel any orders placed for international delivery if we are unable to service your request.

The Lilac Tree cannot guarantee a delivery time however, in line with Royal Mail practices you should allow up to 28 days for delivery and we can't accept claims for loss before this time frame has lapsed.

If, for any reason, we are unable to deliver your purchase within 28 days, we will contact you to inform you of the likely date of despatch.

Orders returned by Royal Mail undelivered will be held for a further 28 days then disposed of – if we are contacted we can usually arrange redelivery.

Delivery timescales for bespoke or customised orders will differ depending upon the details of the order and materials required. We aim to complete bespoke or customised orders within 4 -16 weeks, but accurate timescales for individual orders will be discussed as part of the bespoke ordering process.

The Lilac Tree is compliant with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Act 2000, which provides a 7 working day no quibble guarantee* on STOCK items. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO ITEMS PERSONALISED TO CONSUMER SPECIFICATION, pursuant to regulation 13(c) of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Act 2000.

If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, and the goods are safely returned within 7 days in their original condition, you will receive a refund. Postage and packing costs are non-refundable and the goods must be returned at your own expense.

The Lilac Tree cannot be held responsible for costs incurred, damaged or lost packages on return. It is recommended that any return should be sent with adequate packing and insurance to cover damage or loss. Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery services are recommended.

Please provide your Order Number, Name and Address and the reason for the exchange or return. Items will not be accepted for refund unless these details are provided with the return. The above returns policy does not apply to any special orders, bespoke or custom-made products, which are non-returnable.


Damage in Transit

In the unfortunate event that any product is damaged in transit, it is your responsibility to inform us immediately on receipt. Details must be recorded on the delivery documentation, and we must be notified no later than 48 hours after delivery, in writing or by email, providing your Order Number, Name and Address and a description of the damage incurred. Please do not dispose of any of the packaging, as this will be required to affect the claim against the carrier.
