Trading with The Lilac Tree, and use of The Lilac Tree web site, is governed by the policies, terms and conditions set forth below. Please read them carefully. Your use of the web site, or the placement of an order, indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. The Lilac Tree reserves the right to make changes to the site and these terms and conditions at any time. We reserve the right to add or withdraw items from our range without notice. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Intellectual Property
The web site is owned and operated by The Lilac Tree. Unless otherwise specified, all information or materials appearing on this site, including logos, text, site design, graphics, icons, and images, as well as the selection, assembly and arrangement thereof, are the sole property of The Lilac Tree. No materials from this site may be copied, reproduced, modified, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any form or by any means without prior written permission from The Lilac Tree. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved. Any unauthorised use of the materials appearing on this site may violate copyright, trademark and other applicable laws and could result in criminal or civil action.

Acceptance of Orders
The Lilac Tree reserves the right, without prior notification, to refuse service to any customer or to require verification of information prior to the acceptance of any order. In the event of a product being listed at an incorrect price due to typographical error or error in pricing information received from our suppliers, The Lilac Tree shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for product listed at the incorrect price. The Lilac Tree shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit or debit card charged. If payment has already been made for the purchase and your order is cancelled The Lilac Tree shall immediately credit the amount of the incorrect price.

Paying For Your Order

The Lilac Tree accepts most credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Delta and American Express. We operate a secure and sophisticated on-line processing system via SAGEPay and Nat West Streamline. No one will see your credit card number - when you place your order our secure server software encrypts all your personal information including your credit card number, name and address. This encryption process takes all the characters you enter and converts them into bits of code, which can then be safely transmitted over the internet.At no time are your details held in clear text on any website.

You also have the option to pay by cheque or postal order – either:

  1. Simply complete your order by filling your shopping cart online, then cancel at the payment page. Details of your order will be held in our system. Please send an email to the order number generated by the site and we will forward an invoice for payment via cheque/postal order.
  2. Email details of your requirements, including product name, quantity, size or colour (if applicable), together with your delivery address and post code to We will then generate and send you a proforma invoice to be paid by cheque/postal order.

The Lilac Tree invoices all sales in GBP Sterling. If you are shopping outside the UK, your credit card company will automatically convert the transaction to your local currency.  

Ordering and Delivery

To make a purchase simply use the "Add product to my bag" button to select your chosen pieces, and once you have finished selecting, proceed to checkout.  Postage costs are calculated during the checkout process - the best way to check postage is to add the items to your cart and go to the checkout.

Retail prices on the site are shown inclusive of VAT. For accepted trade customers, when logged in, trade prices will be shown net of VAT, which will be added at the prevailing rate (currently 20%) when you process your order through the checkout.

Once we have received notification of your purchase we will email you to confirm said purchase and advise delivery details. Please note that a contract does not exist between us until we have confirmed acceptance of the order. This term is simply to protect us in case of product unavailability or pricing error. Should such an error have occurred we would of course refund you immediately.

Postage and Packaging

All tiaras are lovingly packed in tissue and strong cardboard boxes to prevent damage in transit.

All postage costs are advised during the checkout process before you finally submit your order. Standard UK charges are £2.95 for items under 2kg and a maximum of £4.95 for items over 2kg. Postage is free within the UK for orders over £250.

UKorders are sent by Royal Mail First Class Post or Special Delivery, both of which require a signature upon receipt.

Recorded Delivery within the UK is a 1st Class postage service requiring a signature from the recipient. This allows us to order track ensuring you receive your product safely.

Special Delivery within the UK is a next day service that offers the added security of insurance cover up to £2,500 for the package contents. Your order can be tracked and requires a signature from the recipient. Please note that despatch via this method will not necessarily be on the date of order. If you need to know when the purchase is despatched to ensure availability of a signatory, please contact us via, quoting your order number as a reference.

International postage rates are advised at the checkout. The following table outlines international zones that we currently ship to, together with the standard postage charge for orders. If you want us to ship to a zone not listed below, please contact us and we will advise the postage.

Please note that you will need to take responsibility for any import duties and applicable import laws prevailing in the destination country.

The Lilac Tree reserves the right to cancel any orders placed for international delivery if we are unable to service your request.

The Lilac Tree cannot guarantee a delivery time however, in line with Royal Mail practices you should allow up to 28 days for delivery and we can't accept claims for loss before this time frame has lapsed.

If, for any reason, we are unable to deliver your purchase within 28 days, we will contact you to inform you of the likely date of despatch.

Orders returned by Royal Mail undelivered will be held for a further 28 days then disposed of – if we are contacted we can usually arrange redelivery.

Delivery timescales for bespoke or customised orders will differ depending upon the details of the order and materials required. We aim to complete bespoke or customised orders within 4 -16 weeks, but accurate timescales for individual orders will be discussed as part of the bespoke ordering process.

The Lilac Tree is compliant with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Act 2000, which provides a 7 working day no quibble guarantee* on STOCK items. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO ITEMS PERSONALISED TO CONSUMER SPECIFICATION, pursuant to regulation 13(c) of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Act 2000.

*Sorry, but for legal reasons we cannot accept the return of any earrings.

If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, and the goods are safely returned within 7 days in their original condition, you will receive a refund. Postage and packing costs are non-refundable and the goods must be returned at your own expense.

The Lilac Tree cannot be held responsible for costs incurred, damaged or lost packages on return. It is recommended that any return should be sent with adequate packing and insurance to cover damage or loss. Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery services are recommended.

Please provide your Order Number, Name and Address and the reason for the exchange or return. Items will not be accepted for refund unless these details are provided with the return. The above returns policy does not apply to any special orders, bespoke or custom-made products, which are non-returnable.

Damage in Transit

In the unfortunate event that any product is damaged in transit, it is your responsibility to inform us immediately on receipt. Details must be recorded on the delivery documentation, and we must be notified no later than 48 hours after delivery, in writing or by email, providing your Order Number, Name and Address and a description of the damage incurred. Please do not dispose of any of the packaging, as this will be required to affect the claim against the carrier.

Privacy Policy

Here at The Lilac Tree, your privacy is paramount. As such we do NOT give any of your details out to any third party. We are required by the Data Protection Acts of 1984 and 1998 to follow strict procedures to protect customer information. You can rest assured that none of your details will be passed to bridal lists and that all personal information sensitive or otherwise given to us through this website will only be held and used with care and in accordance with this policy and the Data Protection Act 1998.

All purchases are subject to availability and confirmation of the order price by us. Despatch times may vary according to availability and any guarantees warranties or representations made as to delivery times are limited to mainland UK and are on the basis that we are not responsible for any delay in delivery occurring due to postal delays or force majeure. The Lilac Tree is absolutely entitled to refuse any request made by you. If your order is accepted we will inform you by emailing you or else by calling you.
